To me, UNC Kenan-Flagler has always felt like the very best combination of book smarts and people smarts. Friends from other schools warned of cutthroat MBA classes or Hunger Games-style competition for grades and jobs, but at UNC Kenan-Flagler I found a family that has supported and built me up every single time.
The Dean’s Fellows Program is unique in that it represents a long legacy of students’ accomplishments and giving back at UNC Kenan-Flagler. Each first-year Dean’s Fellow is given the opportunity to work on a project critical to the mission of the School, from case competitions to working on long-term brand strategy. At each stage of the process, we are given tremendous amounts of room to take ownership, hone new leadership skills and drive results.

What our website and promotional materials can’t fully capture is that you don’t leave this place with a “network” – you leave with brothers and sisters who will tease you about that awkward moment when you first met the Dean, but who will also fight tooth and nail to help you achieve your goals.
Through the Dean’s Fellows Program, I’ve gained a group of people who I trust and admire, and whom I credit for some of my greatest personal growth. UNC Kenan-Flagler isn’t for everyone. If you need all the recognition and all the air in the room, you’ll hate working with others. But if you’ve got an open mind and don’t mind being challenged in nine different ways that will make you smarter, tougher and more professional, this is the home for you. I’m not saying it will be easy – but I can almost guarantee that it will be worth it.
