Developing leadership skills is one of the most – if not the most – important and valuable things you’ll do while you pursue your MBA. At UNC Kenan-Flagler, many students choose to pursue leadership opportunities with one or more student-led groups, including the MBA Student Association as well as various student clubs and advisory boards.
As an elected leader, you represent the MBA student body within the larger campus community and to external companies and organizations. This provides you a unique networking opportunity with university and business leaders.
You’ll also participate in a course that provides a framework to manage your organization, complemented with one-on-one coaching. You’re given an overview of a broad range of leadership styles and soft skills that are critical to success in any organization, as well as exposure to senior business leaders in and outside the classroom.
Elected positions also give you the opportunity to apply the critical leadership competencies you’ll learn and develop as part of your MBA education. You’ll leave a lasting impact on the student body, the MBA program, and the UNC Kenan-Flagler community.
