Washington D.C.

The GIE will focus on public policy and how it overlaps with business. Washington D.C. is home to 177 foreign embassies as well as the headquarters of many lobbying groups, professional associations, international organizations, non-profits, and trade unions. Washington’s economic influence continues to grow in the sectors of finance, public policy, education, and scientific research. During the program, students will visit the U.S. Capitol to learn about the U.S.’s legislative history, as well as a foreign embassy. Students will also visit numerous companies during the week.

Students will also engage in a hands-on service-learning activity during their time in Washington, actively working to better the community they are visiting while learning about the challenges unique to the area through a management discussion.
