NUS offers a curriculum that is similar to Kenan-Flagler's, and business students transfer a combination of business core and elective courses towards the undergraduate business major or minor. Students will take 4-5 courses and transfer 12-15 UNC credit hours. NUS has popular course offerings in Asian business, finance, management, and marketing.
Courses taken at the National University of Singapore Business School will transfer back to UNC Pass/Fail. Achieving a grade of C or above will transfer back to UNC as a pass course, which will not affect UNC GPA. Students who receive any grade under C will fail the course and an F grade will transfer back to UNC, which will affect their UNC GPA. Though transfer credit for this program is Pass/Fail, future employers and graduate schools will also look at the NUS transcript, so grades are important.
Students participating on this program will transfer back 3 UNC credits for every 4 credit course at NUS, and are expected to take four to five courses worth 4 NUS credits each during the semester. A student who earns a C or better in all courses will receive a total of 12-15 UNC credits for their semester abroad.
This program also fulfills Experiential Education and you will earn points towards the Kenan-Flagler Inclusive Global Leadership Initiative. Full-time enrollment on this program is defined as a minimum of 12 credit hours.
« PrevNext »Housing
NUS offers on campus housing, however space is limited and not all exchange students receive on campus housing assignments. The student accommodations are within walking distance to most campus faculties, libraries, sports facilities and administration offices. There is also a free internal shuttle bus service that operates throughout the campus 7 days a week.
Our recommendation for students interested in NUS is to apply for on campus housing as early as possible and independently search for alternative off campus housing in the event that on campus housing is not available.

Singapore is a large modern city with a diverse population of over five million inhabitants. Located in Southeast Asia, Singapore is considered one of the world's leading financial centers.
While Singapore's history dates back to the 11th century, it is a relatively young country in terms of independence. It gained independence from Malaysia in 1965. As a port city, Singapore has a history of being conquered. The Portugese destroyed the city in the 1600s, and the British took control in the early 1800s, where Singapore gained importance as a port city. During World War II the island was occupied by the Japanese, then control reverted back to the British, then the Malay, and today sovereignty. Singapore has a highly developed free market economy and has been applauded for it's visionary development.
