    Credit Information for KFBS Students

MKTG2010 Marketing Management was approved for BUSI 406 credit for Summer 2018, and will likely be approved for 406 credit in Summer 2019. Other courses in the Business and Management course list, with the exception of 1000-level courses, will likely be approved for BUSI elective credit. Courses approved for BUSI elective credit in previous terms are as follows:

Students take two courses on the CUHK summer program and have the option of doing two business electives or one business and one general elective. Some courses require prerequisites, and students should check these requirements before enrolling. Please go to http://www.summer.cuhk.edu.hk/issjulyacademics/ to view course outlines.

There is no language prerequisite to participate on the CUHK exchange program, and the business curriculum is taught in English. Formerly a British territory and as a Special Administrative Region of China, Hong Kong maintains English as a national language.

Courses taken at the Chinese University of Hong Kong will transfer back to UNC Pass/Fail. Achieving a grade of C or above will transfer back to UNC as a pass course, which will not affect UNC GPA. Students who receive any grade under C will fail the course and an F grade will transfer back to UNC, which will affect their UNC GPA. Though transfer credit for this program is Pass/Fail, future employers and graduate schools will also look at the CUHK transcript, so grades are important.

Students participating on this program will transfer back 3 UNC credits for every 3 credit course at CUHK, and are expected to take two courses worth 3 credits each during the summer. A student who passes all courses will earn a total of 6 UNC credits for their summer abroad. Full-time enrollment on this program is defined as 6 credit hours. This program also fulfills Experiential Education and you will earn points towards the Kenan-Flagler Inclusive Global Leadership graduation requirement.
