Admissions Process for High School Prospective Students

UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Undergraduate Business Program is a professional school within the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Students typically apply to the business major or minor after enrolling at UNC, through an intra-university transfer process—a separate application process available to current UNC students after their first or second year.

However, a portion of undergraduate business majors—approximately one-third—enter the program through the Assured Enrollment Business pathway. This special opportunity allows high-achieving, focused high school applicants to secure a place in the business major before arriving on campus, provided they meet certain academic and programmatic requirements during their first year. Students admitted through Assured Enrollment officially enter the business major in the fall of their sophomore year—earlier than the standard intra-university transfer population, assuming all program requirements are met. See additional information, including program overview, selection criteria, and program requirements below.

While Assured Enrollment is a prestigious opportunity, it is the least commonly traveled path to the business major. Most students enter the program through the standard intra-university transfer process. To learn more about our intra-transfer admissions process, view the Admissions Information for Current Students or explore our campus and virtual visit opportunities.

Undergraduate Assured Enrollment Special Opportunity

UNC Kenan-Flagler selects a small group of outstanding prospective students for assured admission to the undergraduate business major. This opportunity is one of many Special Opportunities available to a select percentage of incoming students.

Business students offered assured enrollment will be referred to as Future Business Admits upon their enrollment to UNC.
