UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

MAC Student Life

We’re talented.

Our students come from a wide variety of undergraduate majors, but they have one thing in common: they’re all high performers in the classroom. Whether it’s reviewing the notes within a Beethoven symphony, or crunching algorithms in a bioinformatics class, our students have the mental horsepower and agility to succeed in any field – especially accounting.

We’re fun.

Creating a dynamic an inclusive atmosphere is important to us. Therefore, we ensure our students are smart, but understand the value of social engagement. Our students have a wide variety of interests – from global travelers to adventure sport enthusiasts. This skill-set means that our students are fun outside of the classroom, and can also bring their positive vibes on client engagements.

We’re involved in the community.

We also understand the importance of having a positive impact within and outside our community. The vast majority of our students hold volunteer positions prior to arrival, and most continue this vocation throughout the program. In addition, we have a dedicated student body – The Community Service Committee – specifically designed to create a positive impact on our communities.

We’re leaders.

We believe that great leadership is a skill that can be honed and practiced. Starting with our Orientation & Leadership Immersion, our program creates opportunities for you to demonstrate leadership within the classroom and among your entire peer group. Because we recognize that it’s not only important to have the accounting technical capabilities, but you also need to demonstrate leadership with your employer and various clients. To help you gain practical experience, we’ve created a number of student committees to provide a conduit for you to further strengthen your leadership skills.

Words can only scratch the surface of student life in our program. We’ve identified some of our all-stars to share their views in these engaging videos. Take a look!
