Tuition and Fees

You’ll pay tuition for access to world-class faculty and researchers. Your tuition ensures that you receive a remarkable education, talented peers, and a technologically-advanced classroom.

Online format

Tuition for the online format is $1446.36 per credit hour for the 2023/2024 academic year* plus travel expenses to the required Leadership Immersion, held in Chapel Hill.

The online format of the MAC degree is 36-48 credits, depending on your prior coursework. (Students who have previously completed courses in accounting or students who have completed an MBA from an accredited institution may be eligible for course waivers that will reduce the 48-credit requirement.)

In addition, fellowship awards — which can exceed $10,000 — are available to qualified students. These awards, along with course waivers, military benefitsemployer support, and external scholarships, allow many students to significantly reduce the overall cost of their degree.

* The 2023/2024 academic year runs from in July 2023 through June 2024. Please note that tuition is subject to change each academic year, as approved by the UNC System Board of Governors, and any tuition change is applicable to all enrolled students.

Online tuition includes student fees, simulations, assessments, technology platform licensing and technical support. Textbooks and travel expenses to optional events – recruiting events, Global Immersions, and graduation — are not included.

Employee waivers. Tuition waivers for the Master of Accounting online format are not covered by the Tuition Waiver Program for UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC Healthcare, and other UNC System employees. Please click here for more information about employee waivers.
