History and Network
In 2015, the Master of Accounting Program celebrated its 30th year. Born from an Accounting concentration within the undergraduate business degree, the Kenan-Flagler MAC program has been remarkably successful in turning out highly qualified graduates who, in turn, have helped shape the accounting profession.
Why does this matter?
It’s all about our network.
Thirty years’ worth of MAC graduates from UNC Kenan-Flagler now fill the ranks of ALL Big 4 and middle-market accounting firms and numerous corporations, public-sector entities, and non-profit organizations. They work across the country and around the world. They serve as recruiters, mid-level managers, and senior executives. And, they become valuable connections for the students who graduate from our program.

Evolution has built a better program.
Over time, as changes in the business world and the accounting profession unfolded, the structure of the MAC Program evolved. The undergraduate concentration was eliminated to allow for focus on the Master’s program; a unique curriculum was designed for non-accounting majors; and, in 2015, an online delivery of the program was launched.
