As part of the Accounting Mentorship Program (AMP), you will develop important professional relationships with FORVIS (previously Dixon Hughes Goodman) associates, with the UNC Master of Accounting (MAC) Program admissions team, and with fellow mentees and AMP alumni. You will also participate in professional development programming centered on career exploration, building a personal brand and inclusive leadership.
AMP is a remarkable opportunity for rising second and third-year students from any non-UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduate institution. Receive 1:1 personal mentorship that provides insights into the accounting profession and preparation for a successful career in business. Delivered by FORVIS and the UNC MAC team, the AMP experience aims to build your industry knowledge while helping you develop personal and professional skills that will prepare you for graduate school and the business world. Learn more about the enhanced benefits coming to the AMP program in 2023.
Beginning in 2023, students selected for AMP through the application and interview process will be provided with the following benefits:
At the close of the AMP, mentees also will receive a professional development stipend established to support with professional development, academic or graduate school prep related needs.
We’ll be hosting a virtual Accounting Mentorship Program Information session on Feb. 15 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for interested rising second-year and third-year undergraduates to learn more about the program, ask questions and connect with returning mentees, our staff and professionals from FORVIS.
Our final application deadline for AMP is April 3, 2023. Applicants will then proceed through an interview process before being selected into a class size of 10-15 AMP mentees. Virtual programming will begin in August 2023 and continue through the fall semester, with the Capstone Case Competition held here in Chapel Hill, NC, in January 2024. The student’s expenses for the trip to Chapel Hill are paid.
