Carolina Women in Business (CWIB) provides the women of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School with opportunities for career and community development and networking opportunities in preparation for their post-MBA journeys.
Meghan Marie McDonnell - President
Meghan is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Meghan spent three years in San Francisco in mobile tech as a Manager of Client Strategy. In her role, Meghan managed the West Coast business territory, including forecasting and tracking all revenue, supervising a team, and working with Fortune 500 clients to develop their digital marketing strategy. Prior to that role, Meghan spent four years as a Project Manager in the commercial architecture and design space. Meghan graduated from the University of California, Davis with degrees in Biology and Art History, and holds a certificate from the University of California, Berkeley in Clinical Trial Management and Regulatory Affairs. In addition to being President of CWIB, Meghan is also VP of Corporate Sponsorship for the Investment Banking Club. This summer, Meghan will be joining the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley in New York.
Emily Meyer - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
Emily is a class of 2016 MBA student concentraing in Marketing. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Emily was a Clinical Nurse in Los Angeles. Emily graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing Science. This summer, Emily will be joining the Internal Marketing Strategy team at 3M in Minneapolis.
Meghan Meehan - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
Meghan is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Energy. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Meghan spent six years in the real estate industry in Vail, CO, selling residential and commercial real estate. Meghan graduated from Colgate University with a degree in International Relations. A Colorado native, Meghan loves to ski. This summer, Meghan will be joining Bank of America's Operations department in Charlotte, NC.
Ashley Landstra - VP of Conference Planning
Ashley is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Marketing. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Ashley worked at Marriott International in San Francisco as a Senior Sales Manager. Ashley graduated from California State University, Chico, with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Minors in Spanish and Public Relations. This summer, Ashley will be joining Synchrony Financial's marketing team.
Jessica Hawley - VP of Conference Planning
Jessica is a class of 2016 MBA student. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Jessica spent seven years working at the Transportation Security Administration. Jessica graduated from Davidson College in 2007. This summer, Jessica will be joining Bayer in Whipppany, NJ as an Assistant Brand Manager.
Meagan Funches - VP of Conference Planning
Meagan is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Marketing. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Meagan spent time working in non-profit research, government, and retail. Meagan graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Political Science. This summer, Meagan will be joining the Consumer Marketing group at Johnson & Johnson.
Cindy Tsai - VP of Communication
Cindy is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Marketing. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Cindy worked in marketing and branding with private equity firms in New York, and in public affairs in Washington, D.C. Cindy graduated from Dartmouth College. In addition to being involved with CWIB, Cindy also serves as the Chair of the Admissions Advisory Board and as a Marketing Fellow. This summer, Cindy will join Johnson & Johnson's Consumer Marketing team in New Jersey.
Juliann Rienecker - VP of Finance
Elisa Chiniara - VP of Learning & Development
Juliann is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Juliann worked in sales and trading at Morgan Stanley in New York. Juliann is from Richmond, VA, and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics. She was also on Cornell's swim team. This summer, Juliann will be joining Harris Williams in Richmond, VA as an Investment Banking Associate.
Elisa is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Marketing. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Elisa worked for Communispace Corporation, a consumer collaboration agency, where she helped integrate the voice of the consumer into major brands' business strategies. Prior to Communispace, she worked for an eco-friendly consumer products company, Preserve Products, and in Copenhagen at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. Elisa graduated from Colby College with a Bachelors of Arts in Environmental Studies. This summer, Elisa will be joining Johnon & Johnson.
Rutuja Jagtap - VP of Learning & Development
Rutuja is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Rutuja spent three years at General Electric in Supply Chain and Operations Management. Rutuja graduated from Cummins College of Engineering for Women with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. THis summer, Rutuja will be joining the Investment Banking Division of J.P. Morgan in New York.
Jessi Gordon - VP of Social Affairs
Jessica is a class of 2016 dual degree student, pursuing her MBA at Kenan-Flagler Business School, and her MPP at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Jessica worked in government affairs in New York. Jessica graduated from the George Washington University in 2011, with a degree in Public Health. She loves spinning, baking, cooking, and attempting to dress like Kate Middleton. This summer, Jessica will be joining Gallup Consulting in Washinton, D.C.
Caitlin Fross - VP of External Outreach
Caitlin is a class of 2016 MBA/MSPH dual degree student; her MBA concentration is Consulting. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Caitlin worked at Deloitte Consulting in their Federal Healthcare Practice. Caitling graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. In addition to serving on the CWIB Board, Caitlin also serves as VP of Learning & Developement for the Consulting Club. This summer, Caitlin will be joining McKinsey Consulting in Atlanta.
Allison Simon - VP of External Outreach
Allison is a class of 2016 MBA student, concentrating in Consulting. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Allison worked for energy and environmental start-ups. Allison graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelors of Arts in International and Global Studies, and Environmental Studies. At Kenan-Flagler, Allison is also involved with the Net Impact Club and Consulting Club. This summer, Allison will be joining the Organizational Change Management Group at Cognizant Consulting in New York.
Mary Margaret Little - VP of Women's Initiatives
Mary Margaret is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Corporate Finance and Real Estate. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Mary Margaret spent her career in real estate development and technology. Most recently, she was a Client Services Manager for a software start-up company. Mary Margaret graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In addition to being on the CWIB Board, she also serves as VP of Corporate Relations for the Real Estate Club. This summer, Mary Margaret will be joining Crescent Communities in Charlotte, NC.
Ben Thayer - MVP (Male VP)
Ben is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Consulting. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Ben worked for an environmental engineering firm in Raleigh, modeling the effects of stormwater pollution and managing water infrastructure projects. Ben graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Ben enjoys wrenching on his race car, and trying to cook the perfect omelette.
Carolina Women in Business (CWIB) aims to further enhance each woman's business school experience by providing career-related and community-focused programming. Annually, the organization leverages its professional relationships with its corporate sponsors and alumnae to give current women the opportunity to network in a more intimate setting for internships and full-time jobs. The club also aims to foster solidarity among current women and alumnae.
