Veteran’s Benefits

Benefits for military veterans

Leverage your military leadership, management, teamwork and relationship skills to prepare for a successful future in business.

Whether you’re an active duty service member or veteran of the U.S. armed forces, you already know your military experience has taught you a great deal about leadership. UNC Kenan-Flagler offers a portfolio of MBA options to empower you to leverage those skills to advance your career in increasingly complex business environments.

The Executive MBA Programs offer military personnel:

  • Immediate application: the MBA curriculum allows you to bring actionable learning straight to the workplace. Students often share work challenges during class sessions to gain insight from faculty and peers.
  • Strong network: you’ll quickly develop strong relationships with a diverse network of business professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds and organizations, building connections you’ll use throughout your career.
  • Broader leadership skills: the curriculum builds on military leadership skills by applying those skills within a business context.
  • Teamwork: as a veteran, you’re already adept at developing, communicating and executing projects with a strong, organized team. The Executive MBA program allows you to leverage and expand on those skills by partnering with a study team comprised of peers from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

In addition, UNC Kenan-Flagler also supports veterans through our Military Veterans Club for service members and partners. If you’re interested in connecting with an EMBA veteran student or alum during the admissions process, please contact us.

Additional benefits for veterans

Application fee waiver

We waive the application fees for all U.S. military service members — active duty and veterans. Indicating your military experience in your application will activate the fee waiver, which will be applied after you submit your application. In some cases, supporting documentation may be requested. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be issued for application fees already paid.
