The Leonard W. Wood Center advisory board is made up of friends of the UNC Real Estate Program who have a meaningful connection to the program as alumni, industry professionals, parents, etc. and have a vested interest in the future of the Wood Center. Through annual meetings, committee work and impactful financial contributions, advisory board members support UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in the pursuit of its vision to be the global leader in real estate education.

Turner has enjoyed over 19 years of service on the Advisory Board for the Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate Studies (WCRES), and he deeply values the knowledge, skills, friendships and partnerships that have resulted from this experience. He has a genuine passion for the WCRES Community, and as the Chair of the Wood Center Advisory Board, he is committed to continuing its legacy of fostering leaders in the real estate industry.
Currently, as the Managing Director of Silverwing Partners, a family office platform, Turner creates and manages investment strategies and implements highly disciplined estate, leadership and succession planning. He is focused on creating generational cashflow investments in the lower middle market private equity sector and through developing legacy real estate properties. Whether serving on the Board of Directors for platform investments or advising executive management teams, Turner takes an active role alongside his partners to foster long-term, trusted relationships across Silverwing Partners’ portfolio.
Previously, as the Director of Multifamily Development and Acquisitions at Cambridge Development Group, Turner developed multifamily infill projects. Earlier in his career, he progressed from a corporate analyst to become a Development Director for Colonial Properties Trust in both their multifamily and retail divisions. He began his career at International Paper in their general management and analyst training program.
Turner completed his MBA with honors and concentrations in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship at Kenan-Flagler and holds a BS from Vanderbilt University where he also graduated with honors. While at Kenan-Flagler, he earned the Class of 2006 Core Leadership Award and was the President of the Real Estate Club. Turner serves on the executive boards of the Greater Alabama Council for Scouting America and for Vision Cashiers and previously served on the boards of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Outside of work, Turner enjoys coaching his sons’ mountain biking team and spending time outdoors with his family.
