Chip Snively’s teaching focuses on corporate finance and personal finance.
He has covered courses on investments, applied investment management, project management and a Global Immersion Elective to Finland, Russia and Estonia.
He teaches in the Undergraduate Business Program (UBP) and MBA programs, in person and online. He previously ran the UPB’s Assured Admit Careers in Business course.
He also designed and teaches a personal finance class for non-business majors at Carolina.
Professor Snively is coordinator of the Investment Management Area of Emphasis for the UBP and the Capital Markets and Investments Concentration in the Full-Time MBA Program.
He is director of the Capital Markets Lab and the faculty sponsor for the UNC Finance Society.
Professor Snively joined UNC Kenan-Flagler from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where he was co-director of the Investment Management Academy, an applied investment management concentration/curriculum. He taught courses in the MBA (residential and online) and undergraduate programs, as well as a co-operative graduate program in Zagreb, Croatia.
Prior to joining academia, he worked for Intel Corporation in various senior financial management roles, including running manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, China and Puerto Rico, and the Strategic Capacity Planning group in Arizona.
Additionally, Professor Snively has corporate finance experience with American Airlines and asset management experience with Liberty National Bank & Trust Company.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
He received an MBA in finance/international business from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business and an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Kentucky.
