Excellence. Leadership. Integrity. Community. Teamwork.
These core values and the generous support of alumni and friends enable UNC Kenan-Flagler to sustain our reputation as one of the best business schools in the world.
UNC Kenan-Flagler Donor Recognition Societies
Your support is a vital component of our success. All gifts make an immediate and tangible impact on our students, faculty and programs – from our campus in Chapel Hill to communities across the globe. We appreciate your commitment to our mission and for helping us achieve our goals.
To thank our donors and promote the importance of philanthropy at UNC Kenan-Flagler, we have created annual and cumulative lifetime giving societies. These programs provide opportunities to recognize the generosity of our donors and promote active engagement of UNC Kenan-Flagler alumni and friends within the business school and beyond.

Donors qualify for the Cornerstone Society with an unrestricted, expendable gift of $25,000 to the Fund for UNC Kenan-Flagler. Cornerstone Society donors provide critical funds that enable the dean to pursue the school’s highest priorities. These gifts supply bridge funding to the dean while he works to grow our endowment as part of the next University campaign. Membership in the Cornerstone Society also qualifies donors for the Dean’s Circle at the Presidents level.
Ann Christian Goodno Loyalty Society
The Ann Christian Goodno Loyalty Society recognizes UNC Kenan-Flagler’s consecutive donors. The society is named in honor of Ann Christian Goodno (BSCOM ’45), who has been supporting the Business School for 70 years. Goodno is the School’s longest-living consecutive donor according to UNC Kenan-Flagler’s records. She celebrated the 70th anniversary of her graduation from UNC Kenan-Flagler on Oct. 26, 2015. You can join the Goodno Loyalty Society when you make a gift to UNC Kenan‐Flagler two or more years in a row or if you set up a recurring donation to the School.
The Dean’s Circle honors alumni and friends who make annual contributions of $1,000 or more to UNC Kenan-Flagler. These gifts – combined with all other private support – fund nearly 20 percent of the school’s annual operating budget and benefit every program at the business school. We acknowledge these donors for their loyal generosity and crucial support of the school.
Membership in the 1919 Society is based on cumulative lifetime gifts, including planned gifts, to UNC Kenan-Flagler. One of the oldest accredited business schools in the nation, 1919 refers to the year the University established the Department of Commerce, which was renamed Kenan-Flagler Business School in 1991. The 1919 Society honors the school’s most staunch supporters.
The Dudley Carroll Society honors alumni and friends who document planned gifts to UNC Kenan-Flagler. Planned gifts are bequests and other tax-advantaged gifts that are created and documented during a donor’s life and mature at a later date. The society is named for the business school’s first Dean, Dudley DeWitt Carroll, who served from 1919 to 1950.
