IMC Alumni Reunion & UG Alpha Competition

Join us on April 23–24, 2026, for the Investment Management Center’s end-of-year celebrations.

We will kick off the two-day event with PRIME Presentations, followed by our IMC Board and Action Council meetings. The first day will conclude with the AIM Board meeting, end-of-year awards ceremony, and a reception bringing together current students, graduating seniors, alumni, and friends of the Center. We will close out the day with a dinner for our Alumni and Friends of the Center.

On day two, we will host the Fourth Annual Undergraduate Alpha Competition.

The success of our MBA Alpha Challenge inspired the creation of the Undergraduate Alpha Competition. Join us on April 24, 2026, for the Fourth Annual Undergraduate Alpha Competition as our top undergraduate teams showcase their investment ideas and compete for top honors.

Thursday, April 23:

12:00-12:30 p.m. – Registration and Lunch: Bell Hall – Callinicos Forum, Room 1200

12:30-1:50 p.m. – PRIME final presentations: Various classrooms in Bell Hall 
Get a glimpse of what PRIME has grown into through the eyes of our students. The PRIME program was born out of a discussion amongst alumni and other key stakeholders in 2021.  Come and see how this idea has come to fruition and developed into a flourishing experiential class! For all alumni and friends of the program, current PRIME students and prospective UNC PRIME students.

2:00-2:30 p.m. – IM Board/Action Council meeting – Part 1: Key Updates: Callinicos Forum, Room 1200
How do we continue to elevate UNC Kenan-Flagler’s brand in the Investment Management industry? Hear about recent exciting developments at the IM Center and the school, driven by our committed alumni & friends and get ready for interactive breakout sessions.  We encourage all alumni, friends of the program, and faculty to please join this session.

2:30-3:30 p.m. – Research Seminar: Callinicos Forum, Room 1200
The investment industry is being transformed and reshaped by AI, big data and digital assets. Hear from faculty on cutting-edge topics, showcasing the application of artificial intelligence and large language models to process large-scale financial datasets and inform portfolio strategies at our inaugural research seminar at the IMC Reunion. All are welcome!

3:30-4:20 p.m. – IM Board/Action Council meeting – Part 2: Committee Breakout Discussions and Debrief: Callinicos Forum, Room 1200
Join us for an interactive session as alumni & friends discuss crucial questions in small groups to elevate the UNC investments program to even greater heights! We encourage all alumni, friends of the program, and faculty to please join this session.

4:30-5:50 p.m. – AIM Board meeting: Bell Hall, Room 2020
The Applied Investment Management (AIM) course has long been a cornerstone of the Capital Markets and Investment Management curriculum and a key to student success. Join us for our bi-annual board meeting – all are welcome!

6:00-7:00 p.m. – Graduation ceremony and Reception: Callinicos Forum, Room 1200
We would also take this opportunity to congratulate all our graduates for their incredible achievements during their time at Carolina! Alumni, friends of the program, faculty/staff, graduates, student leaders – please join us!

We are pleased to host the fourth Undergraduate Alpha Competition. This competition has quadrupled in size since its inception! See our 175+ undergraduate students (mostly first-years and sophomores) participate, led by the Investment Management Center, Smart Woman Securities, Wealth Management Association, UNC Asset and Wealth Management Club, Credit and Restructuring Club, and our MBA Alpha Challenge chair and mentors. Come and watch our undergraduate talent battle it out. All welcome!
