MBA Investment Competitions

Investment competitions are a critical aspect of the student journey in investment management. At these competitions, you apply industry and technical knowledge, showcase your investment ideas and strategic thinking to the investment community at large, receive real-time feedback from experienced investment professionals, network with like-minded peers and professionals as well as interview to secure internship and full-time job offers in investment management.

We provide training and support so you can participate in various investment competitions and continually hone their investment acumen. During the fall and early spring, our students participate in a variety of investment competitions, including:

  • Cornell Parker Center MBA Stock Pitch Competition
  • Cornell Parker Center MBA Women In Investing Conference

  • Darden @ Virginia Investing Challenge
  • MIT Sloan Investing Series
  • NYU Stern MBA Credit Pitch Competition
  • Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition
  • UCLA Anderson Fink Credit Pitch Competition

In 2020, UNC Kenan-Flagler student teams swept various pitch competitions with the following finishes: second and third place at the Alpha Challenge, first place in NYU Stern’s Fixed Income Competition, second place in Cornell’s Investment Portfolio Case Competition and third place in the Annual Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition.

In 2021, UNC Kenan-Flagler student teams took second place in both the equities and fixed income brackets at the Alpha Challenge.

In 2022, UNC Kenan-Flagler student teams took first place in both the equities and fixed income brackets at the Alpha Challenge, the largest, preeminent pitch competition.
