Pramita Saha brings over 15 years of experience in capital markets, sales and trading and investment banking to her teaching and center leadership roles at UNC Kenan-Flagler.

She is passionate about making finance accessible to students from all backgrounds, demystifying a field that can feel opaque and building pathways for students who might not have imagined careers in finance and investment management.

As executive director of the Center for Excellence in Investment Management, she manages and directs its activities, strategic and operating plans, and securing funding sources to support its activities and students. She leads the center’s partnerships across UNC Kenan-Flagler and the University, and collaborates with the center’s faculty director, faculty steering committee, advisory board, action council and other stakeholders.

Professor Saha’s teaching focuses on experiential offerings. She developed and teaches the Projects in Investment Management Experiential Learning (PRIME) class for undergraduate and graduate business students.

She created the Gateway into Capital Markets and Investments course, an introductory course for Undergraduate Business Program students and is developing a core finance course for Master of Science in Management Program students. She supports the Fundamental Investing Practicum and the Investment Management: Explore & Experience program.

Professor Saha serves on the planning committee of Alpha Challenge, the pre-eminent MBA investment pitch competition, and led the launch the Undergraduate Alpha Competition. She also leads the Investment Management for All: Wealth and Women conference, which brings together students from more than 50 universities.

She serves as advisor to student clubs, including the MBA Investment Management Club, Undergraduate Finance Society, Smart Woman Securities at UNC and the Carolina Investment Group.

She joined UNC Kenan-Flagler in 2019 as associate director and then became senior associate director of coaching for the MBA career team. She went on to lead student and alumni engagement at the Center for Excellence in Investment Management before taking on her current role as executive director.

Before she joined UNC Kenan-Flagler she was head of loan syndicate and distribution Americas at Standard Chartered Bank and held positions at Goldman Sachs, Citi and BBVA.

She received her MBA with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her BA from Smith College.
