Recalling your own experience, what advice do you have for applicants who are preparing for either the GMAT or the GRE?

I believe three months of thorough preparation for the GMAT is more than sufficient. Start your prep with a sample test so that you identify your grey areas and sections you are weak in. During actual prep, solve as many sample questions as possible and always analyze the solutions. Leave the last month for giving sample tests and analyzing the solutions. Scoring high in these sample tests builds up confidence which would stand you in good stead on D-Day.

Based on your own selection process, what advice do you have for applicants who are trying to draw up a list of target schools to which to apply?

Don’t just blindly target the top-ranked MBA schools. Focus on your strengths and aspirations and then analyze and understand what inputs are required to achieve those goals. Once you chalk out the blueprint, apply to those schools which you believe have the resources and a program to help you succeed in your professional life.

What advice do you have for applicants in actually applying to a school, writing essays, doing admission interviews and getting recommenders to write letters on your behalf?

Be as genuine as possible while writing essays so that you are able to answer any question asked. During an admission interview, never forget to ask some strategic questions concerning the b-school.

What led you to choose UNC Kenan-Flagler for your full-time MBA?

I chose UNC because I believe that the MBA program, with its strong focus on experiential learning and a world-class leadership program, will provide me the perfect environment to become a well-rounded professional. Also, opportunities such as Global Immersion Electives, exchange programs and Global Business Projects will help me equip myself with the professional competencies required in the international arena.

What would you ultimately like to achieve before you graduate?

I would like to expand my understanding of the fundamentals of corporate analysis and enhance my strategic thinking capabilities.
