The mission of the Wells Fargo Center for Corporate Finance at the Kenan-Flagler Business School is to promote excellence in corporate finance education, research, and outreach at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Center serves to promote timely, relevant, and rigorous research in corporate finance to establish The University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler Business School, as a premier institution in the field. The Center strives to promote excellence in education, serving as a bridge between the theory and practice of corporate finance. Promoting the development of a rigorous and practical corporate finance curriculum with an emphasis on current issues and innovative teaching strategies is an important objective of the Center.
The Center will serve as a bridge between the theory and practice of corporate finance. The research strength of the faculty in our finance area allows the Center to contribute new knowledge in important and highly relevant issues in corporate finance, yielding new methods, data and results to academics and industry participants. Such research will consist not only of timely treatments of current issues, but also longer-horizon puzzles and problems in corporate finance. The educational mission of the Center is supported by a generous commitment from Wachovia.
