FoodCon: Resilience, Creativity, and the Future of Food

9:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. EST

The UNC Net Impact Club, Duke, and NC State are hosting the 7th annual FoodCon: Resilience, Creativity, and the Future of Food on February 12th, 2021 from 9:45am-3:30pm!

If you’re in the RDU area, you can add on a box of fresh ingredients to be used in a virtual lunch cookalong with chef Jacob Boehm of Snap Pea Creative Dining! Here’s how:
Go to http://bit.ly/FoodConTickets
Add 1 FoodCon ticket ($10) and one lunch cook-along add-on ($15) to your basket
Pick up your box from UNC KFBS parking lot (under the Kenan Center portico) on Thursday, February 11th
Tune in to virtual FoodCon on Friday, February 12th! Lunch cookalong from 12-1:15pm

All boxes will contain fresh ingredients for four servings of lunch, which Chef Jacob will guide us through preparing! We will also send out a list of ingredients beforehand to purchase on your own, so you can still participate in the cookalong without adding on a box.

During the conference you’ll hear from speakers from Chobani, Food Rescue Hero, Bull City Burger, the James Beard Foundation, Carrboro United, and more! See attached PDF for more information.

Morning Keynote: Leah Lizarondo, Co-Founder & CEO of Food Rescue Hero / 412 Food Rescue

Afternoon Keynote: Zoe Feldman, Director of Chobani Incubator Program, joined by company founders of Mason Dixie Foods, Seal the Seasons, and Partake Foods
All are invited to a free FoodCon kickoff event on Thursday, February 11th from 7-8pm! Hear from the team behind the documentary “Hearts of Glass,” which follows the tumultuous first 15 months of Vertical Harvest, a hydroponic greenhouse that provides meaningful employment for people with disabilities. Film will be available to view on-demand starting on 2/5 at: https://watch.showandtell.film/watch/mba-foodcon
