    Mr. Morgan has served as Executive Chairman of Krispy Kreme since 2014. He served as Chairman of the Board of Krispy Kreme since 2005; before joining Krispy Kreme as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2008.


    Mr. Morgan served as Chairman and CEO of Wachovia Securities following the acquisition of Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc. (IJL) by Wachovia Corporation. He had previously served as Chairman and CEO of Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc. Mr. Morgan is a past member of the Securities Industry Association Board of Directors and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) regional firms committee, and is currently on the Board of Directors of Coca-Coca Bottling Company Consolidated.


    Mr. Morgan has more than 40 years of business experience and is a 1969 graduate of Vanderbilt University. He also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.


    Mr. Morgan maintains a lifelong commitment to youth and education through his involvement with numerous charitable organizations. As an active member of Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte, Jim teaches a young couples class and has been a Sunday school teacher for the past 40 years. He is a devoted family man, and he and his wife, Peggy, reside in Cornelius, North Carolina. They have three children and four grandchildren.

    Students and their families who are attending Undergraduate Business Family Day are asked to RSVP their attendance below by Sunday, September 20th. If you are also attending Family Weekend, you will need to RSVP on their website in order to participate in their scheduled events.

    Check-in for families begins at 1:00 p.m. in R. Charles Loudermilk Foyer, outside Koury Auditorium. The Formal Program begins at 1:30 p.m., including:

    - Opportunities to hear from Kenan-Flagler's senior leadership and Undergraduate Business Program Associate Dean Dick Blackburn.
    - An overview of the Undergraduate Business Program
    - Participate in classroom, career and leadership simulations
    - Global Competency: Insights into Global Business Education

    Dean Speaker Series - Susan Cameron

    Join us to hear Susan Cameron, CEO of Reynolds American. Susan M. Cameron became president and chief executive of Reynolds American Inc. (RAI) and president of subsidiary RAI Services Company on May 1, 2014. Cameron is also a director on the RAI board.

    Cameron previously served as the president and CEO of RAI, and as a member of the board, from 2004 through her retirement in February 2011. She was the board chairman from January 2006 through October 2010. At the time of the October 2010 announcement of her intention to retire from the company and its board the next year, the board decided to split the roles of chairman of the board and chief executive officer. Thomas Wajnert replaced Cameron as chairman. After she retired, she rejoined the board as a director on Dec. 5, 2013.

    From 2001 to 2004, she was president and CEO of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. Brown & Williamson and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. combined their U.S. businesses in 2004. At that time, Cameron was named president and CEO of the new parent company, Reynolds American, created at the time of the merger. Before the merger, Cameron had served as president and CEO of Brown & Williamson since 2001. She joined that company in 1981 as a sales representative, and worked in numerous international and domestic marketing roles during her tenure.

    Cameron also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of RR Donnelly and Tupperware Brands Corporation, and serves as a trustee for the University of Florida.

    Cameron received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in business administration Bellarmine University.

    Cameron has been active in a number of women’s leadership initiatives, and during her previous tenure as RAI’s CEO was recognized by Forbes magazine, FORTUNE magazine and the Financial Times as one of the most powerful women in business.
