    Tom Long, retired CEO of one of the world’s largest brewers, discusses the surprising story of how two ferocious competitors forged a US joint venture with a culture perfectly fit to compete against a dominant Anheuser-Busch. And then the game changed……and a whole new culture was required.
    Tom Long is the former chief executive officer of MillerCoors and Miller Brewing Company.
    Tom spent 17 years at The Coca-Cola Company where he held a variety of positions, including vice president of strategic marketing global brands, vice president strategic marketing research and trends, president of Coca-Cola's Great Britain & Ireland division and president of the Northwest Europe Division.

    Tom sits on the Board of Directors of Wolverine Worldwide in Grand Rapids, MI and on the Board of Amcor, in Melbourne Australia.

    Tom earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School. He is married to Elizabeth Stewart Long and has three children, all of whom attended the University of North Carolina.

    Tom serves on the UNC Chancellors Philanthropic Council and is the former President of the UNC Board of Visitors.

    Join the local UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School alumni in volunteering at Junior Achievement. September 29 is the UNC Kenan-Flagler Atlanta Alumni Chapter Day of Service for JA of Georgia! The JA’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center is honored to serve middle students to make their experience more authentic, relevant and experiential. We provide a real-life learning experience to help students better understand the opportunities that await them beyond the classroom.

    The Day of Service will provide excellent exposure, team building, unique personal and professional development, and a great opportunity to help inspire our youth. JA Finance Park (7th grade) Volunteers will play the role of a mentor/coach to a group of 7-8 students as they complete a household budget. Through the experience, volunteers will develop their own communication skills and evaluate their own personal financial management habits.
