Global Opportunities

Global immersion electives (GEI) are experiential programs designed to prepare students for success in today’s global business economy. Each experience begins with coursework in Chapel Hill that provides essential context on the region’s history, culture, economy, and business environment. Student then participate in a dynamic international experience filled with company visits, meetings with business leaders, cultural activities, and immersive learning opportunities that challenge them to engage deeply and think globally.

By experiencing international markets firsthand, students develop the skills and cultural awareness needed to lead and collaborate across borders. These unique opportunities broaden their understanding of how business is conducted around the world, strengthen their ability to navigate diverse environments, and build confidence beyon. More than a travel experience, GEI offer a transformative perspective that enriches their education and prepares them to thrive in a global business environment.

UNC Kenan-Flagler has offered GIEs since 1993. During this time, students have studied – and networked – in over 85 countries, which include some of the world’s most dynamic economies. Get insight into some of the recent opportunities our students have had to examine innovation, entrepreneurship, strategy and sustainability around the world.
