Dedication and commitment to giving back

Members of the 1919 Society, Dudley Carroll Society, Board of Visitors, Alumni Council and Foundation Board of Directors came together in October 2016 for our annual event celebrating their commitment and dedication to UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.

The highlight of the event was a special ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the completed expansion of the Paul J. Rizzo Center at Meadowmont.

Home to UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Executive Development and Weekend MBA programs, the Rizzo Center features a 90,000-square-foot, cutting-edge facility that will serve more than 160 corporate clients and 3,200 decision makers annually.

The land that houses the Rizzo Center was originally owned by William Barbee and his family before being purchased by the DuBose family. The highlight of the property was their home, named “Meadowmont” for its location on a small mountain surrounded by meadowland.

Members of the DuBose family joined us at the event celebrating the history of Meadowmont and the Rizzo Center. Special guests included donors whose generous support made the expansion a reality, as well as members of the Meadowmont Advisory Committee.
