Shaping Leaders, Driving Results

Undergraduate Symposium

Mission Statement

The Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Business Symposium's mission is to facilitate professional interactions between students, faculty, and executives, and to foster professional development through exposure to corporate culture and current business practices.

History

UNC Kenan-Flagler Professor Barry Roberts created Symposium in 1983 as a way to bring students closer to the business community. Since its inception, the event has grown dramatically and is one of the largest student-run events in the country and an annual highlight of UNC Kenan-Flagler

The defining purpose is to help students begin to develop a sense of professionalism and to gain exposure to critical and contemporary, real-world issues—enhancing what students learn in the classroom. The event serves as the premier opportunity for BSBA students to network with business executives.

2012 Symposium

The vision for the 28th Annual Undergraduate Business Symposium centers on its theme "Leverage your potential, Customize your success." Our goal for this year's event is to use the leadership and insight of participating executives to engage and inspire the students. We want undergraduates to acknowledge and develop their unique strengths in a way that will propel them toward their individual career and personal goals. We hope this event will help students bridge the gap between their undergraduate and professional lives.
