UNC Kenan-Flagler Full-time MBA Clubs

The MBA Program and the MBA Student Association work jointly on our social calendar in a way that supports student quality of life and creates a deep sense of loyalty to the school among graduates. The following represent only a sampling of our planned social events throughout the year.

    Social Events

    A hallmark of our program, these themed evening socials are held on the courtyard outside the business school or at local establishments within the community. Current students and their families, faculty, and staff attend these active socials jointly planned by the MBA Program office and the MBA student body:

    MBA Family Socials

    The UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA Partners Association, known as Kenan Connection, is highly regarded and is a model among business schools. The Partners Association is made up of the spouses and significant others of MBA students and is designed to help them become a part of the community. The MBA Families Club also partners with the MBA Program Office and Kenan Connection to plan family-friendly social events for the entire MBA community. Events include:

    • Pool Party during ASW
    • Durham Bulls Game during ASW
    • Pumpkin Patch and Farm Visit
    • Movie Nights on Campus

    Legacy Cup Events

    Each MBA class is divided into eight legacy sections consisting of roughly 37 students each. Throughout the year, our first- and second-year Legacy sections combine and compete against other sections in a year-long effort to win the coveted Legacy Cup. Events include:

    • Kickball Tournament
    • Scavenger Hunt
    • MBA Karaoke
    • Fall and Spring Community Service Days
    • Legacy Olympics

    Dean’s Speaker Series & Weatherspoon Lectures

    The Dean’s Speaker Series and Weatherspoon Lectures bring prominent speakers to campus on a regular basis. The UNC Kenan-Flagler community has had the privilege of hearing from influential leaders such as:

    • Sherron Watkins, former VP and whistle-blower, Enron
    • David Ignatius, associate editor and columnist, The Washington Post
    • Jeb Bush, former Florida Governor
    • Carol Folt, Chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill
