Spain & Morocco

Culture and Business Realities in a Personal Context

In this immersion program, you will spend time exploring the complex business relationship that exists between Spain and Morocco. You will gain a broad understanding of the historical and cultural influences that have led the two countries to have a productive economic cooperation despite friction in the realms of religion, immigration and territory disputes.

Beyond examining the cultural and business relationships between these two countries, program goals include:

  • Exploring your own cultural norms & setting growth goals for broadening your cultural understanding
  • Framing your future work-life balance
  • Building communication skills for your future in both business and society

These concepts will come to life through:

  • Interactions with locals
  • Company visits
  • Guest lectures
  • A variety of program-relevant cultural activities.

From Jan. until the program departs in March, you will take pre-program classes designed to give context to the week-long on-ground experience. While in country, you should expect to spend approximately 10 hours per day on program activities. After the program returns, you will have one final class to wrap-up the themes and ideas you’ve encountered.

This program is led by Michael Meredith, Clinical Associate Professor of Management & Corporate Communication.
