    Credit information for KFBS students

Kenan-Flagler students studying at the University of Economics take a variety of business elective courses towards their undergraduate business major. This university does not offer equivalent courses to Kenan-Flagler's undergraduate core courses. The University of Economics offers courses in business administration and economics - to receive business elective credit, students must take business (and not economics) courses.

Courses taken at the University of Economics will transfer back to UNC Pass/Fail. Achieving a grade of 3 or above will transfer back to UNC as a pass course, which will not affect UNC GPA. Students who receive any grade under 3 will fail the course and an F grade will transfer back to UNC, which will affect their UNC GPA. Though transfer credit for this program is Pass/Fail, future employers and graduate schools will also look at the VSE transcript, so grades are important.

Students participating on this program will transfer back .6 UNC credits for every 1 ECTS credit (meaning that a 5 credit ECTS course transfers back as 3 UNC credits), and students are expected to take at least 20 ECTS credits (worth 12 UNC credits) total during the semester. A student who earns a 3 or above in all courses will receive a total of 12-18 UNC credits for their semester abroad, depending on how many ECTS credits they take (between 20-30 ECTS).

This program also fulfills Experiential Education and you will earn points towards the Kenan-Flagler Inclusive Global Leadership Initiative. Full-time enrollment on this program is defined as a minimum of 12 credit hours.« PrevNext »
  • Housing

Students studying at the University of Economics stay in a student dormitory with other international students. This dormitory is old, inexpensive, and lacking the amenities many U.S. students have come to expect.

Please see http://ozs.vse.cz/english/exchange-programme/housing/ for more information.

  • Student Life

Widely considered one of Europe's most beautiful cities, students enjoy life in Prague for its scenery, activities, affordability, and for its accessibility to other points of interest in Europe. Prague is a major cultural and economic center in the region. With a population of over 1.3 million, there are many historical and cultural sites to visit as well as galleries, museums, and shopping.
