The Nonprofit Board Consultants Program provides you an opportunity to put your skills and knowledge to work while helping an area nonprofit organization. The program places MBA students on nonprofit boards of directors as nonvoting members. That can give you exposure to high-level strategy and leadership experiences, opportunities to interact with experienced mentors, chances to serve the community, and training and tools necessary to serve on a board post-graduation.
Consultants work with the board to develop and lead a project specific to the organization’s advancement. At the conclusion of the program, consultants will present their progress to organization leaders, peer consultants and MBA staff members.
Examples of past projects include:
Nonprofit organizations benefit by gaining access to talented business leaders who offer new insights and have a wide range of business skills. Additionally, the program helps organizations further their brand and provides networking opportunities with future nonprofit leaders.
Some of our past nonprofit partners have included Habitat for Humanity, Super Cooper Red Wagon Foundation, United Way, Paws4Ever, Big Brothers Big Sisters, PORCH, Meals on Wheels, TABLE and Ronald McDonald House.
