We place strong importance on maintaining a program that’s inclusive of students from a wide range of backgrounds. The unique perspectives that our students bring into the classroom invite curiosity and open opportunities to enrich the overall learning experience. Likewise, we participate in numerous initiatives that benefit the community around us. If you have any questions about our diversity programming, please reach out to Stephanie Robertson, Associate Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives, at email@example.com.
The MAC Mentorship Program is an opportunity for undergraduate students to learn essential business skills while learning more about the accounting industry. The program works in conjunction with the Carolina Covenant and its program sponsor, PwC, which hosts workshops and events throughout the spring. These workshops, led by PwC partners, include:
- Resume Building
- Networking Nitrogen
- Opportunities in Public Accounting
- Diversity and Inclusiveness in the Business World
- Etiquette Dinner
At the completion of the program, students may choose to take an undergraduate course offered exclusively for Mentorship Alumni. Taught by program director and MAC professor Tamara Barringer, this course helps students utilize the skills learned during the Mentorship Program. The MAC Mentorship Program is geared toward underrepresented minorities, first-generation college students, and students who have overcome social or economic hardship.
The Accounting Mentorship Program
The Accounting Mentorship Program, or AMP, is a remarkable opportunity for rising second- and third-year students from any non-UNC undergraduate institution to receive personal mentorship in preparation for a successful career in the accounting profession. Delivered by Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) accountants and the UNC Master of Accounting team, AMP will help build knowledge about the profession and will prepare students for graduate school and the business world.
