UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

Home, Work and School Balance

You're probably wondering, "How can I possibly balance home, work and b-school, too?" You should consult the experts. Our students.

An MBA that fits your life

For the established business professional, taking time away from work to pursue an MBA degree full time can disrupt the momentum you’ve already set in motion. And frankly, few can afford the loss of income during this time.

Four MBA program options

That’s why UNC created four MBA programs for working professionals. You can choose the format that best supports your lifestyle and career goals.Weekend MBA and Evening MBA are executive MBA programs that allow you to customize your MBA through elective courses or a concentration; Global OneMBA, our global executive MBA program, develops leaders in global management; MBA@UNC is an online MBA program that allows employees to earn their MBA from anywhere in the world.

These options give you more flexibility to acquire the skills and experiences to fulfill your career objectives. Whether your primary focus is global management, corporate finance or targeted marketing experience, whether you need classes that meet during the week or on weekends, you can find the program that’s right for you.

Balancing home life

Most of our executive MBA students have partners and children at home. They will tell you that family support is critical. Contact us, and we’ll arrange for you to talk with a student who has family responsibilities similar to yours. They will share how they make it work. We encourage you to bring your partner to an information session to learn more.

Balancing school life

To make your life easier, the Executive MBA staff takes care of the details behind the scenes, from pulling together your textbooks to booking your rooms for overnight stays. You will find us responsive and accessible. You can reach faculty and staff outside of class time by email and phone.
