June 16, Kenan-Flagler Day, was yet another record-breaking success! This date marks the School’s first virtual Giving Day, on which we were able to set another historic milestone – breaking the $2 million mark of support for UNC Kenan-Flagler.
Donors participated from across the globe, sending in gifts from eight countries and 40 states.
The only thing missing this year was the presence of our wonderful students, faculty and staff on campus. However, many participated in virtual activities including the School’s first-ever Zoom/Facebook Live event, which has reached more than 6,500 people. In addition, alumni, parents and students attended 12 regional virtual events, from the Triangle to San Francisco.
Members of our faculty and staff accounted for more than 200 gifts on Kenan-Flagler Day. More than 150 gifts were directed to our diversity and inclusion (D&I) fund at UNC Kenan-Flagler, representing 25% of the total D&I gifts raised across campus.
Kenan-Flagler Day also featured a partnership with University-wide GiveUNC efforts. The Business School is proud to have had more donors than any other school or unit on campus, accounting for 28% of the University’s donor total. All told, the University raised an impressive $7.32 million from 3,754 donors on June 16.
Thank you to those of you who supported Kenan-Flagler Day this year! We are grateful to have such an incredible community of alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends of the School.
Together, we are Kenan-Flagler!
