Steven Wolf

Steven Wolf Steve earned his M.B.A. at Chapel Hill in 2000.  Shortly after graduation, he and three classmates co-founded the Washington, DC Alumni Club.  He served as the DC Alumni Club’s director from 2004 to 2005 and led the Richmond VA Alumni Club from 2006 to 2010.  He has served on the Alumni Council since its inception.
Professionally, Steve is an experienced market researcher and marketing consultant.  In 2013 he founded his independent research and strategy shop, WolfWorks Consulting.  His areas of expertise include customer attitudes and behavior, market opportunity analysis, brand positioning, marketing channels, and customer experience improvement.  Previously, Steve was a Partner at the boutique market research and strategy firm HawkPartners, where he led projects with Fortune-500 companies.  Earlier, Steve managed engagements at MarketBridge (a leading marketing and sales consultancy), analyzed e-business trends in Toyota’s strategic planning group, led brand naming development at the identity firm Interbrand, and worked in consumer marketing at Wenner Media (publisher of “Rolling Stone” and “Us Weekly” magazines).
Steve grew up in Los Angeles, CA and earned a B.A. in Economics and Communication, with honors, from the University of Michigan.  He enjoys tennis, running, biking, books, film, and world travel.  He lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife Stephanie, children Max (6) and Zoe (3), and Stonewall, their Plott Hound – the state dog of North Carolina!
