Associate Dean for Advancement
Brad Shafer leads the Office of Advancement (alumni affairs, development, annual fund, corporate relations and stewardship) while also serving as the chief fundraiser.
Shafer began his career in advancement in 1995 and prior to joining Kenan-Flagler, he served Arizona State University as Assistant Dean for Advancement in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He served 6 years in the United States Air Force Guard, completing that duty in 2006.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His Juris Doctorate was earned at Creighton University.
He holds memberships in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the American Fundraising Professionals and is an occasional speaker at development conferences. Outside of work, Brad enjoys running and reading. Brad and the team look forward to working with you to ensure a margin of excellence at Kenan-Flagler.
