"There's an added level of attention to student needs that makes you feel like an entire university is behind you, wanting you to succeed."

Career goals

After graduation, I hope to secure a position at a consulting firm. I'm double majoring in Psychology, so I'd love to eventually tie in those interests in an organizational behavior related context.

My internship

This summer, I'll be interning with General Mills. The business center I'm working at is specifically dedicated to Kroger, so I'll most likely be given a project which determines how to best price and promote products.

Why I chose UNC

My first visit to UNC was between my freshman and sophomore years of high school. Ironically enough, I attended a summer program at Duke and they brought us on a day trip to Chapel Hill. The second I stepped on the campus, I knew I wanted to be a Tar Heel. The gorgeous brick buildings, the liveliness of The Pit, the way the sky shines Carolina blue…. Everything about UNC made it immediately feel like home. Apart from the environment, I knew UNC was one of the nation's most prestigious institutions, and given my intended major, the top-ranked business program helped cement my decision.

Experience with undergraduate business program

My experiences at UNC Kenan-Flagler have exceeded my expectations. I love the small class sizes – they personalize the educational experience and allow students to really engage in the material. With the undergraduate business curriculum, I've even found subjects I had less natural interest in became more enjoyable due to the interactive teaching style. I also love how the professors and staff are so willing to help, whether it be with class work or career advice. There's an added level of attention to student needs that makes you feel like an entire university is behind you, wanting you to succeed.

UNC Kenan-Flagler network

Working in the program office, I interact with members of the UNC Kenan-Flagler network on a daily basis. I invite professors and alums to our orientation events, and everyone is incredibly warm and receptive. However, what has been even more impressive has been the experiences of my fellow classmates. The students at UNC Kenan-Flagler have such diverse backgrounds and skills. When people think about the UNC Kenan-Flagler network, they often think about alumni, but some of my best connections have been through peers.
