My career goals
"I want a career in consulting and later, near the time I retire, I want to start a non-profit that focuses on the professional development of inner city youth."
"The last two summers I've interned with the Smith County Appraisal District in Tyler, Texas. I worked in the Business Personal Property Department which appraises, for tax purposes, all non-real estate items used by businesses to earn income in Smith County. It's been a great experience, especially since I've sometimes been responsible for handling accounts with taxable values in excess of $5 million."
Why I chose UNC Kenan-Flagler
The excellent reputation of UNC Kenan-Flagler as one of the top business schools in the nation was the determining factor in my decision to choose UNC. My business professors at Tyler Junior College in Texas recommended UNC over all in-state options.
My experience of the BSBA program at UNC
"Every single professor at UNC Kenan-Flagler is personally interested in your success as a student. The small class sizes and the professors' passion for teaching and interacting with students ensure that you won't fall through the cracks here. Learning to work in teams is a large part of every course . Not only does this prepare you for the real business world, but it also helps you grow and mature as a person."
The UNC Kenan-Flagler Network
"Through my search for summer internships I've discovered that UNC Kenan-Flagler alumni permeate the business world from small-cap companies to Fortune 500 companies like Intel and General Electric. UNC Kenan-Flagler has one of the strongest networks because every single alumnus is willing to help you in any way they can. A network like UNC Kenan-Flagler's is so important because as a graduate it is one of your most valuable tools in the job search."
