UNC's MBA Real Estate Club aims to provide a strong platform from which to explore the real estate industry, pursue educational and career opportunities, and further the practice of real estate.
C.J. Overly - President
Charles (C.J.) Overly is pursuing a dual concentration in real estate and corporate finance. He will spend the summer as a Development Intern with Trammell Crow Residential in Washington, DC. Prior to business school, C.J. spent six years as the Business Administrator at Gaithersburg High School in Montgomery County, MD, where he played a leading role in the design and construction of a new 430,000 square foot, LEED Gold school building. During this time, C.J. served a three-year term as a trustee of the Montgomery County Consolidated Retiree Health Benefits Trust. Before joining Gaithersburg High School, C.J. worked as a banking analyst with JPMorgan Chase & Co. He earned a BSBA in Finance from Georgetown University and an AA in Business from Montgomery College.
John Kilborne - VP of Finance & Operations
John Kilborne was raised in Washington, DC and received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. After graduation, he spent three years working as an analyst for MAC Realty Advisors, a real estate brokerage firm in Washington, DC. At Kenan-Flagler, John is concentrating in Real Estate and Sustainable Enterprise. In his free time, John enjoys playing basketball, listening to podcasts, and learning about American history.
Michael Oliver - VP of Communications
Mike Oliver is a Class of 2017 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Sustainable Enterprise. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Civil Engineering, Mike worked as a Project Engineer for Clark Construction Group in Washington, DC. At Kenan-Flagler, Mike is pursuing a career in Real Estate Development. In addition to supporting the Real Estate Club, Mike also serves as a Legacy Representative, Chair of the Career Services Advisory Board, and a Nonprofit Board Fellow (Habitat for Humanity).
Hailey Boushey - VP of Corporate Relations
Hailey Boushey graduated from University of Minnesota with a degree in Marketing and Retail. Before coming to Kenan-Flagler for her MBA, she worked at Target Headquarters in Minneapolis as an internal consultant. She is currently pursuing a concentration in real estate development, and will be interning with Crescent Communities over the summer. In her free time, Hailey enjoys running, yoga, Netflix, and visiting her family back in Minnesota.
Laura Bartos - VP of Learning & Development
Laura Bartos graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2013 with degrees in Public Health and Sociology. Prior to business school, she conducted sociology research on affordable housing policy and then taught 8th grade science with Teach for America in Charlotte, NC. She reached a 90% pass rate on the 8th grade science state exam with her students while teaching, compared with pass rates of 70% state-wide and 30% across her school. She is pursuing concentrations in Real Estate and Corporate Finance and is interning at Welltower, a health care REIT, this summer. Welltower invests in and develops senior housing/assisted living, medical office buildings, and outpatient care facilities across the US, in Canada, and in the UK. Laura enjoys running and ran college track at Johns Hopkins.
