Jay Lowe - President
Jay was born in Clarksville, TN to a military family and spent much of his childhood moving around the nation. He landed in Fayetteville, NC in 1999 and eventually graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Public Relations. He spent the next six years working in sales, marketing and promotions in the music industry, specifically for an independent music powerhouse, Durham-based Merge Records. He's pursuing a career in marketing and brand management, building on the experience he got at Merge. In his spare time, he loves asking his dog Pepper inane questions he knows she'll never answer, questions like "Who's a belly?"
Elisa Chiniara - Executive Vice President
Elisa is from Boston, MA and completed her undergraduate degree at Colby College. Prior to business school Elisa worked for Communispace Corporation, a consumer collaboration agency, where she helped integrate the voice of the consumer into major brands' business strategies. Before Communispace she worked for eco-friendly consumer products company, Preserve Products, and in Copenhagen at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. After business school, Elisa hopes to continue her marketing career in Brand Management for a consumer products company.
Dan Cunningham - VP of Finance
Dan is originally from Akron, Ohio and went to The Ohio State University for his undergrad. He studied accounting and started his career as a CPA at Deloitte. At Deloitte, Dan worked with numerous retailers and CPG companies which sparked his interest in marketing. He intends to pursue brand management after school. Dan is a loyal man. He has been in a failing relationship with the Cleveland Browns his entire life but still refuses to give up on them
Pia Marquez - VP of Communications
After graduating from the University of Miami, Pia entered the advertising world as an account executive. She traded the palm trees for the concrete jungle and moved to NYC to pursue a career in fashion e-commerce at Saks Fifth Avenue Corporate. Pia hopes to transition her past experience into a career in brand management. In her spare time, she balances going to the gym with baking desserts.
Jessica Hawley - VP of Corporate Sponsorship
After graduating from Davidson College, Jessica moved to Washington, D.C. to work in the federal government. Jessica is concentrating in Marketing at UNC Kenan-Flagler and hopes to work in brand management for a consumer packaged goods company after graduation. Jessica is originally from North Carolina and is enjoying living in Chapel Hill with her husband Nick.
Morgan Lovit - VP of Case Competition
Morgan grew up in South Carolina and graduated from Indiana University. She worked for Marriott hotel properties in food and beverage, convention services, and event planning. While working the 2012 Super Bowl event in Indianapolis, IN, she body guarded for Michael Irvin and escorted celebrities like Madonna and Michael Ditka through the hotel premises. She is glad to return to the warm south and enjoys going to beach and hiking in the mountains.
Meagan Funches - VP of Learning & Development
Meagan is a class of 2016 MBA student concentrating in Marketing. Prior to Kenan-Flagler Business School, Meagan spent time working in non-profit research, government, and retail. Meagan graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Political Science. This summer, Meagan will be joining the Consumer Marketing group at Johnson & Johnson.
Nathan Woodward - VP of Shadow Days
Nate graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2008, with degrees in English and Business Administration. After graduation, he was a Manager of a restaurant in Chapel Hill, helping to manage a staff of 30. From there, he spent 4 years working in e-commerce in the Washington D.C. area, first as a marketing analyst for a family-owned outdoor furniture manufacturer, and then as a marketing manager at National Geographic. In addition to the Marketing club, Nate is as a Kenan Institute Leadership Fellow, a Boeing Innovation Fellow, and holds a leadership position in the General Management club. This summer, he'll be working at Red Hat in a Global Brand Strategy role.
Kunle Ogundeji - VP of Shadow Days
Kunle is originally from Washington DC. He went to the University of Virginia and went to work for a municipal finance adviser in Boston after graduation. Though he has a finance background, he is looking to start a career in consumer insights.
Louisa Lu - VP of International
Louisa graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and ESC France. Prior to attending UNC Louisa worked as a project manager at IKEA in Shanghai and Quebec office. She spent her summer as an End User Marketing Intern at Dell. She has a passion for exploring the world and was a part-time gym instructor. She has visited over 50 cities in Europe, Asia and North America, observed aurora with Eskimo dogs at North Pole. Her goal as VP of International is to support the development of marketing career opportunities by organizing sharing and education events for club members, especially international students. She is thrilled to be joining the leadership of the Marketing Club and looks forward to a fantastic year.
Gabby Francesco - VP of Speaker Series
Prior to business school, Gabrielle’s professional experience centered around nonprofit communications and marketing. Most recently, she worked to build a brand for a growing private foundation that invests in nonprofits and social enterprises in African nations. Gabrielle is a New Jersey native and studied Art History and Heritage Preservation at Rutgers University. Gabrielle is currently interested in the intersection of marketing, technology and sustainability and looks forward to a transition into product marketing upon graduation.
