- Represent the Latin American and Hispanic communities at UNC Kenan-Flagler.
- Enhance the educational, cultural, and social experience of Latin American and Hispanic students and their families.
- Inform and educate the UNC Kenan-Flagler community about Latin American and Hispanic culture and business opportunities in the region.
- Increase the awareness of UNC Kenan-Flagler among Latin American and Hispanic students in the United States and throughout world.
- Promote the professional development of Latin American and Hispanic students through the alumni network and career conferences.
Armando Chekerdemian - President
Armando is from Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he did his undergrad in law. Prior coming to business school, he worked for 4 years as an attorney in a prestigious M&A law firm and for 5 years as an investment officer in a middle-market Private Equity firm. Armando is pursuing a concentration in Corporate Finance with enrichment in Entrepreneurship. He will be joining Goldman Sachs for his summer internship in Private Wealth Management. Armando is a big soccer fan and has practiced horseback riding for 15 years.
Gabriel Xavier - VP of Finance
Gabriel is from Rio Grande, Brazil, where he grew up and completed his undergraduate studies in Economics. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, he was living in Sao Paulo, where he got his Masters in Finance from Insper, and worked in Wealth Management. Gabriel is concentrating in Corporate Finance and Management Consulting, and will be joining Ernst&Young as a Senior Consultant for his Summer Internship. He loves sailing, playing the guitar, and visiting his family and friends in Rio Grande do Sul, the best state of Brazil.
Federico Yu - VP of Communications
Federico is from Buenos Aires, Argentina and he graduated from Universidad de San Andrés with a degree in Business Administration. Before coming to business school, he worked for 4 years as a controller for Samsung Electronics. At Kenan-Flagler, Federico is focusing his studies in Marketing and Operations Management. As of 2017, Federico has spent 11 years living away from his home country and in his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, cooking and doing barbecues the way only Argentine’s know how to do.
Danielle Moita-Robles - VP of Corporate Relations
Danielle Moita-Robles grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and completed her undergraduate degree at Winthrop University. Danielle is a registered dietitian and she holds a master’s degree in health from University of West Florida. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, Danielle worked for the Women, Infants, and Children Program in the State of New Jersey serving underprivileged populations at nutritional risk. In her free time, Danielle enjoys playing tennis, cycling, and spending time with her family. Danielle will be joining Pfizer as a marketing intern for her summer internship.
Tatiana Suzuki - VP of Learning & Development
Tatiana was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil – the city that holds the largest Japanese community outside Japan. She has a bachelor degree in Business Administration and in Accounting. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, she worked as an auditor for 2 years and as a Corporate Finance consultant for 5 years. Tatiana loves traveling, dancing and spending her time with family and friends.
Luis Carrera - VP of Social & Cultural
Luis was born and raised in Arequipa, Peru. He has a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, he worked for 6 years in one of the largest real estate companies in Peru. In his last role here, he was in charge of sales, marketing, customer service and collections of the entire product portfolio of the company. Luis loves traveling, sports and spending time with family and friends. He will be joining Deloitte as a summer consultant for his summer internship.
Joseph Mazzei - VP of Integration
Joseph is originally from the northwest side of Indianapolis. He attended Purdue University and studied electrical engineering. In his past life, Joe traveled the world for L-3, a defense contractor, ensuring foreign and domestic military aircraft were safe to fly. At Kenan-Flagler he is pursuing a concentration corporate finance. This summer he will be joining United Airlines. In his free time, Joe enjoys traveling, collecting frequent flyer miles, and watching New York Giants football.
