Leadership Team

Joseph Hiatt - President

Joseph is married and is the father of three boys. Although he grew up in Wyoming, far away from all things international, he was privileged to live for two years in Brazil as a young adult. Learning Portuguese and living in a new culture completely changed him, and now he is very much involved with the international community and loves experiencing new cultures. He is very excited to serve as IBA president and hopes to help domestic and international students alike. His favorite IBA event is the International Food Night.

Dipanshu Singh - Executive Vice President

Dipanshu Singh grew up in India. Before joining UNC he was working as a project manager in RIL, the largest Indian conglomerate. He has a background in SCM and computer science. At the business school, he is concentrating in Marketing and Operations. He is really excited to be part of the IBA team and looks forward to organizing social as well as professional events to connect international students to their American counterparts and community.

Beibei Ji - VP of Finance

beibeiBeibei Ji is pursuing a concentration and a career in corporate finance. Before returning to business school, she worked with KPMG and Bayer at Shanghai, China. She graduated from University of Fudan with degrees in applied mathematics.

Apoorva Nivargi - VP of Communications

Apoorva is a class of 2017 MBA student. Apoorva graduated from College of Engineering Pune, India, as a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering. Prior to Kenan Flagler Business School, Apoorva spent three years at Credit Suisse, in the Systematic Market Making Group, where she provided quantitative, analytic and software support to the market-making traders. Apoorva will now be concentrating in Corporate Finance.

Kristen Poulin - VP of Creatives and Social Media 

poulinKristen Poulin grew up in Freeport, Maine and attended school not too far away, earning a bachelors degree in Economics from Bates College. Prior to business school, she worked as a marketing associate for an investment management firm in Boston, MA. Post MBA, Kristen is looking to transition into a marketing role within the healthcare industry. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys knitting, painting, and photography, and has a love for water sports and world-class trekking.

Alejandro Baruh - VP of Corporate Relations

Alejandro graduated with a bachelor in business administration from the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to joining the MBA he worked for ExxonMobil Procurement in the Gas & Oil industry. His goal as VP of Corporate Relations is to build relations with companies that are willing to sponsor and help the IBA carry its mission.

Daniel Pelichek - VP of Learning & Development

Daniel Pelichek is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has graduated in Electrical Engineering and, prior to business school, he worked with product development for more than 5 years. He is currently pursuing concetration in operations management and will be interning at Amazon in the summer. Daniel is an avid reader and enjoys watching sports and speaking with his friends.

Dayoon Yoon - VP of Careers

yoonDayoon obtained her B.A degree from Seoul National University in South Korea and joined and started working as personal banker at Chase in New York. Before coming to business school, she worked as a senior account executive for tech companies including Microsoft, Akamai, and Citrix at PR agency. At Kenan-Flagler, Dayoon is focusing on a career in technology marketing and entrepreneurship. She is a Kenan-Flagler Marketing Fellow and is also a part of the International Business Club leadership team. In her free time, Dayoon enjoys going to parties and drinking beers.

Hareesh Krishnan - VP of Social Activities

Hareesh grew up in Chennai, India. He graduated from College of Engineering, Guindy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Due to his interest in large machines, he joined a power plant manufacturer in India. Over his 6 years of work experience, he headed several large scale energy projects across India. With an intent to create a bigger impact and develop sustainable businesses, he joined UNC Kenan Flagler to pursue his business studies. Hareesh is an outdoorsy person and loves adventure activities.

Kyle Whitaker - VP of Exchange Student Experience and Culture Buddy

Kyle is pursuing concentrations in marketing and operations management. Prior to coming to UNC Kenan-Flagler, he worked as a strategy consultant and in the sustainability departments of BMW and Henkel in Germany. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 2005 with degrees in economics and history.

Renee Dedekind - VP of Exchange Student Experience and Culture Buddy

Renée was in Financial Analytics and Three-Year Planning for a financial institution in Johannesburg, South Africa prior to coming to UNC Kenan-Flagler. She graduated from the University of Cape Town with a double major in Finance and Accounting before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa). Renee is pursuing her MBA degree with a concentration in Consulting. Outside of school, Renée enjoys wine, cooking, golf, and travelling.
