Mission

Our mission is to provide MBA students with enhanced career opportunities in the high-technology industry by sponsoring experiential learning opportunities and networking/recruiting events, and by building UNC Kenan-Flagler’s reputation as a source of technology business leaders.

Leadership Team

Townes Maxwell - President

Townes is concentrating in marketing at Kenan Flagler. Originally from Missisippi, he attended the University of Mississippi for college and law school. After law school he started a career in political campaigning, ad creation, and communications. At Kenan-Flagler, he has become involved in many different things, including STAR, Non-Profit Board Consulting, and the Business Technology Club. He is very excited about the future of the club. Rebecca Benen - VP of Communications

Rebecca Benen is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Marketing. She is originally from Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from Duke University in 2008 with a double major in English and Theater Studies. Rebecca spent the previous 5 years working in digital marketing in the Broadway theater industry and is pursuing a career in technology. Contact: Rebecca_Benen@kenan-flagler.unc.edu

Sambhav Jain - VP of West Coast Corporate Relations

Sambhav is from New Delhi, India. He is an electronics engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, after which he worked with Texas Intruments In India and the US as a sales manager. He also spent considerable time working for his family business based of New Delhi, and is expremely passionate about entrepreneurship. At Kenan-Flagler, he is pursuing concentrations in strategy and entrepreneurship, and marketing. For his summer internship, Sambhav will be working at Amazon in the Retail Leadership Development Program. He loves travelling, live music and making new friends! Arathi Vedamoorthy - VP of Learning & Development

Arathi graduated from Visvesvaraya Technological University in India with a Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Right after her bachelors, she obtained her Masters in Electrical and Computer engineering at University of Illinois in Chicago. Prior to Kenan-Flagler, she worked as an Electronics design engineer at Cree LED lighting. She is pursuing a concentration in Marketing, and will be interning with Emerson Electric for the summer. Arathi is very passionate about technology and eager to help tech aspirants achieve their goal. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, fitness, trying out different cuisines, and playing a variety of sports.  Contact: Arathi_Vedamoorthy@kenan-flagler.unc.edu


Aarti Utreja - VP of International Experience

Aarti grew up in Chandigarh – a pretty town set on the foothills of the Himalayas – in India and completed her undergraduate degree in Biotech engineering in her hometown. She then earned a diploma in management from Goa, India, and pursued a career in IT consulting for retail operations at Infosys and IBM. After 6 years of working in living in Hyderabad, Pune, and Bangalore, she joined the Kenan-Flagler Business School with the desire to transition into Marketing and General Management roles. This summer she will be heading to Dell in Austin, TX for a role in Marketing. Aarti is a trained classical Indian dancer and in her spare time she loves long talks with friends, cooking, and exploring new places to eat at.  Contact: Aarti_Utreja@kenan-flagler.unc.edu


Jim Rosen - VP of Recruiting

Jim grew up in New Jersey and completed his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Colgate University. He then worked at a start-up in the art world for five years, splitting time between New Jersey and New York, before deciding to switch careers and get his MBA. Jim will be returning to New Jersey for a summer internship in CPG marketing. In his free time, Jim loves listening to live music, getting outdoors, and cheering on the Tar Heels.  Contact: Jim_Rosen@kenan-flagler.unc.edu


Membership Benefits

At UNC Kenan-Flagler, we train our students with technology backgrounds to explore deeper business issues behind adoption and use of technology in organizations. We also encourage students with diverse non-engineering backgrounds to consider how companies can leverage information technology to make their businesses more efficient and effective. UNC Kenan-Flagler faculty research on IT related issues has been published in premier journals and is consistently rated best-in-class internationally. Faculty members consistently strive to incorporate their cutting edge research into the classroom.

The Business Technology Club provides MBA students with enhanced career prospects in the high-tech industry by:
