Alliance of Minority Business Students is a professional network of business students of all backgrounds who are committed to supporting diversity of minorities and underrepresented groups in Corporate America.

Leadership Team

Diego Angarita Horowitz - President

Diego Angarita Horowitz is concentrating in consulting. Prior to business school he worked for a renewable energy cooperative in Massachusetts doing marketing management and business development for biodiesel, energy efficiency and solar energy products. He received his undergraduate degree from Hampshire College in 2008 with a concentration in Nutrition and Latin American Studies.

Stephanie Graham - Executive Vice President

Stephanie was born and raised in Massachusetts and attended Wellesley College, earning a B.A. in Women's and Gender Studies and Psychology. After interning with the FDIC throughout her college career, she returned to Washington, DC to work for various trade associations in Political Affairs. Additionally, she joined an activist group in DC called "Black Youth Project 100". She has continued her work with the organization's Durham Chapter after moving to Chapel Hill to attend Kenan-Flagler. At Kenan-Flagler she is a Consortium Fellow and has been an active member in the Carolina Women in Business (CWIB) club, Finance VP for the Alliance of Minority Business Students (AMBS), and will be traveling to East Asia in May 2016 as part of KFBS' "Global Immersion Elective" program.

Josephine Manlangit - VP of Finance

Josephine Manlangit graduate from Saint Mary’s College of California and studied Marketing. Prior to business school, Josephine worked in the retail industry for Target’s Leadership Development Program. This summer she will be joining Goldman Sachs' Investment Management Division in San Francisco.

Sana Ali - VP of Communications

Sana Ali graduated from Emory University with a BS in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. She then joined a team executives to start a clinical laboratory that provided testing services to physicians nationwide. After successfully setting up her business, she decided to go back to school to get her MBA. She is currently studying at KFBS with a Marketing concentration.

Michael Tabb - VP of Corporate Relations

tabbMichael Tabb spent his formative years in Atlanta, GA, before attending the University of North Carolina and graduating in 2012 with a degree in business administration. Before returning to business school, he worked at Caleres (formerly Brown Shoe Company) in their Leadership Experience and Accelerated Development rotational program in St. Louis, MO and Seattle, WA. He previously interned with Legendary Entertainment on the film "42" and is completing a STAR project with Nike Golf. Michael is currently pursuing concentrations in consulting and marketing at UNC Kenan-Flagler.

Evan Shields - VP of Corporate Relations

In 2012, Evan received his bachelor’s degree in Political & Social Thought from the University of Virginia, where he wrote his capstone thesis on private equity investments in minority-owned businesses. Passionate on urban development and education reform, Evan served in several roles within K-12 education post-graduation, as a Teach For America 2012 corps member, policy analyst for Atlanta Public Schools, and a high school math teacher for Fulton County Schools and the KIPP charter school network. Evan came to UNC Kenan-Flagler to study real estate, corporate finance and social entrepreneurship and pursue a career in investment banking.

Marco Sommerville - VP of Learning & Development

Marco was born & raised in Akron, OH and graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in Economics. Prior to business school, Marco worked for JP Morgan as a financial analyst for 4 years in New York City. At KFBS, he is currently pursuing management consulting.

Shawnika Giger - VP of Learning & Development

Before business school, Shawnika lived in Atlanta and worked at a project management firm handling the timelines and details for consumer promotions. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame in 2010 with a major in Marketing and minor in Africana Studies. At Kenan-Flagler she is concentrating in marketing planning to enter a career in brand management after graduation.

Molly Figueroa - VP of Fundraising

Molly Figueroa graduated from Wake Forest University with a major in Business Enterprise Management concentrating in Marketing, and a double minor in Journalism and Studio Art. After graduation Molly worked in corporate retail as a member of the Financial Planning team at Macy’s and the Buying team at Belk. At Kenan-Flagler Molly is concentrating in Marketing with a focus on Data Analytic.

Kyle Payne - VP of Community Service

Kyle Payne received his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to work in the health insurance industry for four years. Kyle then went on to receive a M.S. in Information Science and worked for several years in technology financial services. In 2015, he chose to pursue an MBA to further his professional development. In addition, Kyle has a strong passion for community service and envisions helping to put the Alliance of Minority Business Students in a position to make a difference in the local community.
