Paul Bode

Paul Bode

Fund Manager, MBA Class of 2018

Paul Bode is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. Paul spent his summer in Summit, NJ working with Johnson Development Associates, underwriting potential Self Storage acquisitions throughout the Northeast. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Paul spent nine years working in financial services in New York City, NY for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. As an institutional trader within Bank of America’s Public Finance Group, Paul managed a portfolio of investment grade tax-exempt bonds. Paul’s responsibilities included pricing, marketing, and strategy-setting of $250M in balance sheet. Paul graduated from Dartmouth College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.


Ed Crocker

Ed is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Corporate Finance. Ed spent his summer working for Grosvenor America’s development and investment groups in Washington, DC, where he managed mixed-use development projects, underwrote $400 million of acquisitions and dispositions, and monitored performance of Grosvenor’s mezzanine debt portfolio. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Ed worked as an associate for MAC Realty Advisors, a Washington, DC multifamily brokerage firm. In this role he underwrote and placed over $700M of JV equity and debt for development projects and sold over $125M of land and existing assets. Ed graduated in 2013 from the University of Virginia with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Foreign Affairs.


Jess Fagerberg

Jessica Fagerberg is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate. Jessica spent her summer with JBG SMITH’s development group in Washington, DC. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Jessica spent seven years working in real estate and financial consulting. Most recently, she served as Manager of Acquisitions and New Business at Pyramid Hotel Group, a private third party management company headquartered in Boston. There she managed the team’s underwriting and due diligence efforts and led over $300 million in hotel acquisitions across the country. Prior to this role, Jessica worked at FTI Consulting in the Corporate Finance Restructuring Group. Jessica graduated from UMass Amherst in 2009 with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance.


Alex Griffin

Alex Griffin

Alex Griffin is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. Alex spent his summer in Charlotte working with Crosland Southeast, underwriting potential retail acquisitions valued at over $200 million. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Alex spent three years working in the real estate industry in Atlanta, GA for PGIM Real Estate (formerly Prudential Real Estate Investors). As an Investment Analyst for PREI’s core fund, Alex worked as an asset manager for a portfolio of approximately 25 core and non-core multi-family assets, valued at $2.5 billion. Alex’s responsibilities included annual budgeting, forming property strategic plans, performing due diligence and underwriting for new acquisitions, and managing the property disposition process. Alex graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate.

Tip O'Donnell

Tip is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Corporate Finance. Tip spent this summer at Invesco Real Estate US in New York City on their Acquisitions team. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Tip spent 5 years working in the real estate industry and public accounting. Most recently, Tip was Director of Corporate Finance for Crestline Hotels & Resorts in Washington DC where he led Crestline’s finance and business development efforts. Prior to this role, Tip was an Associate at BDO USA, LLP where he performed assurance and advisory services for government contractors and NGOs.


Javier Vidales

Javier Vidales is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Javier spent five years working in the real estate industry in Mexico City for LaSalle Investment Management. As an associate for LIM, Javier worked in acquisitions and asset management for their portfolio focused in all real estate asset types. His responsibilities included underwriting potential acquisitions, performing due diligence, preparing and presenting investment committee recommendations, and managing the disposition of fund assets. For his summer internship, Javier worked at Admiral Capital Group in New York, NY as a Summer Associate where he gained significant experience in the multifamily and office asset classes. Javier graduated from the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.


Kevin Wade

Kevin Wade

Fund Manager, MBA Class of 2018

Kevin is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Corporate Finance. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School, Kevin was a Project Architect with Hennebery Eddy Architects in Portland, Or, where he contributed to commercial and institutional projects including a $215 million expansion and redevelopment of Portland International Airport. Before joining Hennebery Eddy, Kevin was a Project Manager with Wolf Ackerman design in Charlottesville, Va. In this role he provided, design, project management, and construction administration on a range of project types including historic adaptive reuse, office development, student housing, and hospitality. Kevin is a licensed architect and LEED accredited professional. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2010.


Max Wheeling

Max Wheeling is a class of 2018 MBA student concentrating in Real Estate and Corporate Finance. Max spent his summer working for Collett Capital, a retail investment platform in Charlotte. At Collett, Max worked as an acquisitions associate, where he underwrote over $1.5 billion in potential acquisitions. Prior to attending Kenan-Flagler Business School Max spent five years working for EY’s Transaction Real Estate Group in Philadelphia, where he provided independent valuation, due diligence, financial modeling, and strategic real estate planning for commercial, multi-family, industrial, and special purpose real estate assets throughout the world. At EY, Max specialized in coordinating large portfolio valuations for mergers & acquisitions. Max graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Urban Real Estate and Development from the Wharton School.

Miller is a member of the Undergraduate Business Program class of 2018, concentrating in Real Estate and Corporate Finance. He spent his past summer studying foreign exchange markets and entrepreneurship at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. Outside of the Fund, Miller is further involved on campus through his work on the executive boards of the Undergraduate Business Student Association and Undergraduate Real Estate Club.

She spent her past summer working for HFF with their debt placement and investment sales teams in Atlanta, GA. Prior to working with HFF, Larson interned for St. James's Place, a wealth management firm in London.


Grant Schietinger

Grant Schietinger

Associate, Undergraduate Business Program Class of 2018

Grant is a member of the Undergraduate Business Program Class of 2018, concentrating in Investment Banking and Real Estate. Grant spent his last summer working for J.P. Morgan in its Real Estate and Lodging Investment Banking Group where he worked on deals with an accumulated value of over $4 billion. Prior to working with J.P. Morgan, Grant interned at Swiss-based private equity firm, Partners Group, as well as investment firm, Horizon Kinetics. Outside of the Fund, Grant currently serves as the Head Portfolio Manager for the Reynolds Investment Fund, a subsidiary of UNC's Undergraduate Finance Society and is the Founder of the Honors Carolina Business Leadership Speaker Series. Grant will be returning to J.P. Morgan for full-time employment..
