Shaping Leaders, Driving Results

UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

We are more than a classroom

From the moment you arrive on campus, the real estate program provides a multitude of coordinated activities from the Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate Studies, the MBA Career Management Center, the MBA Real Estate Club and our UNC Kenan-Flagler real estate faculty.

Real Estate Career Development Program

A progressive series developed by the MBA Career Management Center to enhance our student job search outcomes. Covering both technical industry training as well as job search strategies, the series is delivered by a mix of faculty, staff, alums, and fellow students.

Mentoring

From peer to peer counseling to UNC Real Estate alumni, our students have extraordinary access to mentors. Each incoming real estate student will be matched with both a senior real estate alum as well as a second-year real estate student, providing plenty of opportunity for mentoring and growth.

Career Treks

Coordinating with your academic coursework, career treks are offered throughout the year to multiple cities where students are given access to top real estate employers and exciting real estate projects. Recent cities include Washington DC, New York City, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and Philadelphia.

Speaker Series

With access to a large and high-level real estate alumni group and industry leaders, a speakers series is developed each year to showcase speakers who can provide an informative viewpoint of current real estate topics.

Brown Bag Lunches

Organized by the MBA Real Estate Club and the real estate faculty and staff, time between classes is used to present real estate topics in a speaker or open discussion format.

ARGUS Certification

Each year this real estate software company is brought to campus to provide a rigorous three-day class leading to certification.

Financial Modeling Class

To kick-start our students’ real estate acuity in excel modeling, a day of real estate modeling is organized by the Leonard W. Wood Center for first year students.

Speed Networking

Rapid fire events organized by the MBA Real Estate Club, first years hone their networking skills in preparation for their internship search.

Industry Association Membership

The Wood Center provides funding for each real estate student to join those real estate associations the students feel will provide them the most access to industry meetings and conferences.

Real Estate Global Immersion Elective

Offered most years, this for-credit elective offers our real estate students a global perspective of real estate markets beyond our borders. Recent visits include Panama, Cuba, Russia, and the UK.

Real Estate Case Competitions

UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School hosts a spring Case Challenge for the 16 top-MBA programs from around the world. We also form a team to participate in the fall real estate case competition hosted by University of Texas at Austin.

Funding for Student Development Projects
