Core Committee

The Symposium Core Committee is the driving force behind the Undergraduate Business Symposium. All aspects of the event are designed, organized and implemented with great care by the committee, whose job is vitally important to the success of the event. The application and selection process for the Core Committee begins in November. In January, the Core Committee begins to meet and continue working throughout the summer and fall semester leading up to the event.

Executive Recruitment Managers

(Elizabeth Buoyer, Chris Carr and Amee Shrimanker)

The Executive Recruitment Committee manages all of the external contact with executives before Symposium. This includes:

  • Soliciting companies to sponsor Symposium
  • Inviting and coordinating executives serving on panels, in lessons, as case judges and in networking sessions
  • Serving as liaisons to executives and faculty moderators
  • Selecting and managing executive host volunteers

Student Recruitment Managers

The Student Recruitment Managers serve as a valuable contact for students from the time they register until the day of the event. This includes:

  • Coordinating overall volunteer recruitment, selection, assignments and managing registration volunteers
  • Registering students for Symposium and assign to panels, lessons and cases.
  • Assembling and coordinating dispersion and collection of student packets and evaluations of the event.

Operations Managers

(Raven Hartsfield, Marie Iannone, Rachel McFadden and Dan Morgenstern)

The Operation Manager committee ensures the smooth execution of the Undergraduate Business Symposium by:

  • Coordinating and execute the operations for Symposium event
  • Inviting special guests (updating special guest list, design and send invitations)
  • Managing all logistics for sponsor roundtables, executive dinner, panel sessions, executive lessons, case competition, and networking sessions
  • Coordinating operations volunteers

Marketing Managers

The Marketing Committee handles communication and promotion of the event and through various networks by:

  • Developing and implementing creative and innovative ideas through a comprehensive marketing plan
  • Keeping students informed about all aspects of Symposium
  • Issuing press releases; Creating program/signs; Arranging for photographers
  • Maintaining and updating the Symposium website
