The undergraduate business program offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and a minor in business administration. Both options build on the strength of the UNC liberal arts curriculum and provide a foundation in general management that prepares you for a multitude of careers. Do you know which option is right for you?
Majoring in Business
Many business majors set out with a clear business career goal in mind, while others may need more time to determine their career goals. Both understand the value of building a core set of skills that the major in business provides.
- Analytical skills
- Strategic thinking
- Communication (oral and written)
The major curriculum includes a set of nine core courses, a minimum of six business electives, and five electives outside of business.
Minoring in Business
You will likely see the profile of a business minor as someone with a strong passion that lies outside of business, such as music, education or health care, to name a few. Many minors aspire to someday take their passion and turn it into a business. The business minor provides a perfect foundation for these long-term plans.
The minor curriculum provides a foundation in some key core courses and gives you the opportunity to take a few business electives, while still allowing you time to complete your major in Arts & Sciences or another professional school.
