MAC Mentorship Program

The Carolina Covenant

The Carolina Covenant is a groundbreaking program that was the first of its kind. UNC Chapel Hill promises students from low-income families that they can attain their undergraduate degree debt-free. As part of its programming, the Carolina Covenant offers academic and personal support to Scholars, as well as mentors from the University community, to assist students in being successful during their undergraduate career. Our goal is to build on that tradition of excellence through the Master of Accounting Mentorship Program, which offers tools and resources to assist these students beyond their undergraduate career.

The Master of Accounting Mentorship Program

The Master of Accounting Mentorship Program will assist Scholars in honing their analytical and interpersonal skills as well as expose them to the different employment opportunities afforded by a Master of Accounting Degree. The ultimate hope of this program is that many of these Scholars would apply and be accepted into the Master of Accounting Program. We will offer one-on-one mentors to each Scholar along with various workshops and seminars. After their first year of involvement, Scholars will have the opportunity to participate in independent study projects that put them in the business world to give them hands-on experience. After completing the program, we believe these students will be well-prepared for the next step in their lives: graduate school (hopefully the Master of Accounting Program) or full-time employment.
