    General Michael Hayden is a retired four-star general who served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency when the course of world events was changing at a rapid rate. As head of the country’s premier intelligence agencies, he was on the frontline of global change, the war on terrorism and the growing cyber challenge. He understands the dangers, risks, and potential rewards of the political, economic, and security situations facing us. Exclusively represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau, General Hayden dissects political situations in hot spots around the world, analyzing the tumultuous global environment and what it all means for Americans and America’s interests. He speaks on the delicate balance between liberty and security in intelligence work, as well the potential benefits and dangers associated with the cyber domain. As the former head of two multi-billion dollar enterprises, he can also address the challenges of managing complex organizations in times of stress and risk, and the need to develop effective internal and external communications.
    Admission is free, but please register. Parking is available only in Business School Deck.

    Dean's Speaker Series Malcolm Turner NBA Development League

    As President of the NBA Development League, Malcolm Turner oversees the business and basketball operations for the NBA D-League.

    Since assuming his current role in November 2014, Turner has been instrumental in the growth of the NBA D-League, bringing the league to a record 22 teams for the 2016-17 season. He has played a key role in establishing one-to-one affiliations between NBA teams and all 22 NBA D-League teams in an effort to fulfill the league’s mission of having 30 teams.

    Before joining the NBA family, Turner worked at Wasserman Media Group, serving as the managing director of the golf division. Prior to his role in the golf division, Turner helped build Wasserman’s consulting division as its managing director, creating and managing sports, entertainment, venue and new product launch strategies for leading corporate brands and properties.

    Preceding his time at Wasserman, Turner served as the senior vice president of OnSport, a North Carolina-based sports and entertainment consulting firm, where he managed strategy for clients including American Express, Nokia, Travelers and Northern Trust. As a former tournament official for the PGA Tour, Turner also managed the event marketing and activation of numerous PGA Tour Championship events.

    Turner was recognized as a member of SportsBusiness Journal’s “Forty Under 40” in 2007 and has served on the advisory boards of Teach for America, the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School, and the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Fund.

    A member of the New York State Bar, Turner earned his joint J.D./M.B.A degrees from Harvard University. While at Harvard, Turner worked with the NBA’s President of Marketing and Media in conjunction with the launch of the WNBA and consulted with the President of Major League Baseball Properties.

    Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UNC Chapel Hill. He resides in New York City with his wife Jessica.
