Charlotte Alumni Club Awards First-Ever Hugh McColl Legacy Award

UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Charlotte Alumni Club hosted its first annual Charlotte Legacy event Oct. 19, 2006. The inaugural Hugh McColl, Jr. Legacy Award recognizes one of Charlotte’s leaders, the late Joe Bacon Martin III, for his visionary and transformational leadership and its impact on the Charlotte community.

A panel discussion on the real estate development of uptown Charlotte, moderated by Charlotte Observer business columnist Doug Smith, followed the award presentation. McColl, the legacy award’s namesake, is former chairman and CEO of Bank of America, and is a 1957 graduate of UNC Kenan-Flagler’s BSBA Program.

Habitat for Humanity Golf Classic 2007

UNC Kenan-Flagler is hosting its annual charity golf tournament at The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Course on Friday, April 13 to raise money for our Habitat project with Orange County Habitat for Humanity. Alumni are invited to participate. Last year the event brought in over $20,000; our goal this year is to raise $30,000.
