MBA Reunion 2006 Includes Service Project for Overseas Troops

Last October’s MBA Reunion Weekend meant more than just hanging out with old classmates and celebrating. Three hundred MBA alumni and their families attended the festivities, and many of those participated in the weekend’s service project. Managed by UNC Kenan-Flagler international finance and economics professor Bob Connolly, over 50 alumni, family members and members of the MBA Military Veterans Club helped assemble care packages for American troops overseas as part of Any Soldier Inc. These packages from home let soldiers in harm’s way know they’re not forgotten. Over 50 boxes containing a wide variety of goodies were packaged up and sent out.

Friday night’s Reunion festivities included reuniting classes at La Residence and Carolina Inn, followed by an all-alumni party at He’s Not Here. Many alumni also attended “Late Night with Roy” to kick off this year’s UNC Men’s Basketball Season. Saturday was packed with a pregame celebration, followed by the UNC-South Florida football game. The Hawaiian-Luau-themed postgame party featured Coach Roy Williams and a performance by noted Elvis tribute artist, Keith Henderson. The festivities closed with a Sunday brunch at the DuBose House.
